Unlike other kinds of pain, a toothache has a unique way of taking up all of your attention. But there are times when a toothache can appear overnight, or you may need a root canal as part of treatment for an accident or trauma. We understand how uncomfortable and distracting a toothache can be and how important it is to treat an injury as soon as possible. Whether the pain seemed to appear on its own or if it is the result of an accident, call our office as soon as you can. Our team will schedule you for an emergency visit with our endodontist, Dr. Jeff Kochevar, and talk with you about what you can do to keep the situation under control until you can come see us.
You may be able to avoid an emergency appointment if you recognize the indicators of a problem and contact our office as soon as you encounter them. Some red flags can include:
- A continuous toothache
- Pain that radiates to other parts of your face, neck or head
- Pain when you bite down or chew your food
- Sensitivity to hot, cold or sweet foods or drinks
- Swelling in your gums, jaws or areas of your face
